SAFETY AND NUTRITION

SAFETY

We make safety the top priority so everyone can enjoy all that camp has to offer. We are an ACA-accredited camp focused on safety, fun, and growth. We require an extensive 1-week staff orientation, in which our counselors are trained in First Aid and CPR, and also receive thorough training on best practices for working with children. Our summer nursing staff consists of three to four nurses, with a Nurse Practitioner supervising, as well as rotating Doctors.

There is one major hospital within a fifteen-minute car ride from camp, as well as modern MRI and X-Ray facilities. While our goal is to never have your child visit the Health Center we understand that this is unrealistic. If your child has to spend the evening in the infirmary due to fever, cough/cold etc, parents and guardians will be notified immediately. Our Health Center has private air-conditioned rooms, and campers are able to use Netflix or stream movies to make their stay as comfortable as possible.

NUTRITION

Our dining hall is an extension of the home. Campers sit with their bunks at the same table every day for every meal with the exception of meals on Sunday and Wednesday evenings. Our meals are served family-style, and campers may help themselves to as much as they want. All counselors make sure plates are looking full, fresh and colorful. We offer kid-friendly favorites such as chicken fingers (white meat), pizza, hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, etc.

Whether it’s a food allergy or the pickiest of eaters, our staff will make sure your camper feels comfortable, confident, and receives the attention she requires. We provide special meal accommodations to anyone with dairy, gluten, fish, shellfish, egg and soy allergies. In addition, we always have vegetarian options available at every meal. We do not serve peanut or tree-nut products, or products that list peanuts or tree-nuts as ingredients, in our dining hall.
